ConSol*CM uses service-oriented architecture (SOA) technology to be able to optimally meet the requirements of modern computer centers and IT environments. This enables ConSol*CM to be run on all common JEE application servers such as BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere and JBoss AS. It also supports "Software as a Service" (SAAS).

Integrating ConSol*CM into existing SOA strategies is facilitated by the use of an enterprise service bus (ESB). ConSol*CM’s architecture is based on a component and service-based layer model (see illustration).

At its core are business process management (BPM) and a workflow engine. The service layer includes business logic and an interchangeable customer data model, as well as a flexible authentication and authorization mechanism.
